How long we keep it
We keep account, verification and transaction records for as long as your account is open and then for at least 5 years after it closes, as required by the Money Laundering Regulations 2017 and our licence. Self-exclusion records are kept for as long as needed to keep the exclusion working.
Marketing preferences are kept until you change them. Technical logs are kept for a shorter period unless needed for a security investigation. When data is no longer needed, we delete or anonymise it.
How we protect it
Data is sent over encrypted connections. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes. Verification documents are held in private storage that is not accessible from the web, and access to personal data is limited to staff who need it for their role.
No system is completely secure. If a breach affects your data and is likely to put you at risk, we will tell you and the Information Commissioner's Office as the law requires.
Who we share it with
We only share personal data where it is needed for the purposes above:
- identity and age verification providers and credit reference agencies (for identity checks, not credit decisions);
- payment service providers and banks, to process deposits and withdrawals;
- game providers, to run the games you play;
- GAMSTOP, to check and respect national self-exclusion;
- the Gambling Commission, law enforcement and other authorities where we are legally required to;
- IBAS, if you refer a dispute to them;
- IT, hosting and email service providers acting on our instructions;
- professional advisers such as auditors and lawyers.
We never sell your personal data.
If data is transferred outside the UK, we make sure it is protected by an adequacy decision or approved safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you;
- have inaccurate data corrected;
- have data erased, where we are not required to keep it;
- restrict or object to certain processing;
- receive your data in a portable format;
- withdraw consent, for example to marketing, at any time.
To use any of these rights, email privacy@voodoslots.com. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we will reply within one month. Some rights are limited where we must keep data by law.
If you are unhappy with how we handle your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk. We would appreciate the chance to put things right first.
